Lot description:
Roman Provincial

PHRYGIA, Apameia. Augustus (?) 27 BC-14 AD. Æ18mm (5.61 gm). Laureate head right / Two flutes within a laurel wreath RPC I 3124; SNG Copenhagen 206; SNG von Aulock 3485. VF, brown patina.

The attribution of this coin to Augustus is very tenuous. The head is clearly a portrait, but does not resemble any of the other Augustus portraits from the area.

Estimate: $60
